Pet Health and Wellness

Health, wellness, and self-care have become trending topics in our world. Eating healthy, exercising, and regular primary care visits are more of a priority in our lives. Keeping our animals in those same routines as pet owners is essential. Even smaller animals such as turtles and guinea pigs should see a vet for regular check-ups. They should also be on a balanced diet.

Most animals also appreciate getting exercise as much as possible.

Grooming is also a big deal for your pet's well-being and not just for cosmetic purposes. For example, not keeping your pet's nails clipped could become painful and bothersome if they get too long. Unwashed or uncut hair/fur eventually gets uncomfortable and, in some cases, gets itchy.

Well-check visits help prevent serious health issues and keep you on track with any vaccinations your pet may need. We say this often, finding a vet for your animal should be the first step you take when bringing them into your home. It's important!

Researching a healthy diet for the kind of animal you have is also a significant part of wellness. The wrong diet can lead to constipation, diarrhea, or other digestive issues. Additionally, what they eat can impact their physical appearance and energy levels.

Exercise is good for us all, including your pet! It's getting warmer outside. Pack some water and snacks and get some fresh air! Your dog would absolutely enjoy an adventure at the park. Indoor animals also love the time to run around. Visit your local pet stores for supplies like toys, ramps, or wheels to keep your smaller animals occupied. Boredom and lack of activity in animals could lead to health issues and depression.
