What to Look for in a Pet Sitter
Here at This Lil Dog of mine, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent pet care. One of the ways we accomplish that level of service is through Pet Sitting. We commit to watch over your pets and provide all the love and safety they would receive at home while they are in our care.
Our founder and CEO, Mark Carter, aims to create a company culture that encompasses exceptional experiences. He assures owners that we are not just here to do a job but also to show love and support to their pets and ensure they are comfortable and safe. Our staff is consistent in making sure they are well versed in different kinds of animals so that they can properly care for them. TLDOM also utilizes a real-time app called Time to Pet so that whenever pets are in our care, their owners can see every detail of each moment as if they were there. Through this app we are able to send photos, check-ins, and reports. There is a standard to what you as a pet owner should always hold your pet sitter to. Your animal’s caretaker should be more than happy to deliver that standard of care.
Here are some things to look for when searching out the right sitter for your pet:
· Do they have an emergency plan in place?
. Are they CPR and First Aid Certified
· Are they insured and bonded?
· Does the company use a GPS for their sitters? (most sitting apps have one)
· Are they knowledgeable about caring for your specific kind of pet?
· Do they have a genuine love for animals?
· Does your sitter have a sound communication system in place to keep you posted on your pet’s status? (here is a list of commonly used pet sitting apps)
It is also good to ask about what types of training methods they use within the company. Arrange a meet and greet with your new sitter. This is a way for you and your pet to get a feel for who will be watching over them. You will also be able to show them around the parts of your home they will have access to. Feel free to reach out and let us know how we can support your pet care needs!
